Marketing Executive - Technical Sales & Business Development

Job Description

Driven Marketing Executive who combines creative marketing ability with a solid understanding of technology. You will be the face of HT Works Services unit to prospective clients, owning the full journey from campaign to closed deal.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns (social media, email, LinkedIn, paid ads) to generate qualified leads for custom development projects.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in both the Sri Lankan and international markets, particularly targeting SMEs and startups requiring custom web and software solutions.
• Engage with prospective clients to understand their requirements, clearly articulate HT Works' service offerings, and prepare compelling proposals or capability presentations.
• Liaise with technical and IT teams at client organizations — bridging the gap between business requirements and technical delivery.
• Manage and nurture the sales pipeline, from initial outreach through to contract sign-off, maintaining accurate records in CRM tools.
• Collaborate with the internal team on branding, portfolio presentation, and case studies to support sales collateral.
• Track campaign performance metrics and continuously optimize lead generation strategies.

Requirements

Experience & Education

• 1 to 2 years of experience in a marketing, business development, or sales role — preferably within the IT, software, or digital services industry.
• Exposure to or understanding of web development, software integrations, APIs, or SaaS products is strongly preferred.
• A degree in Marketing, Business, IT, or a related field is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Proven ability to generate leads and close deals in B2B environments, including international clients.
• Proficiency in digital marketing channels — LinkedIn, Google Ads, Meta, and email marketing platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to write clear, persuasive copy.
• Comfortable discussing technical concepts such as web development stacks, CMS platforms, REST APIs, or e-commerce integrations at a high level.
• Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously.
• Experience with CRM or project management tools is a plus.
