We are seeking a highly driven, confident, and presentable Merchant Relationship Manager to aggressively grow and manage our client's merchant base within the premium hospitality and restaurant sector in Colombo.
This is a frontline sales-focused role that requires regular field visits, strong negotiation capabilities, and the ability to close deals with high-end restaurants, hotels, cafés, and hospitality brands. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills in English, a strong sales personality, and the ability to build long-term merchant partnerships.
Responsibilities:
Identify, approach, and onboard new high-end hospitality and restaurant merchants in Colombo.
Conduct frequent field sales visits, client meetings, and presentations.
Pitch company solutions confidently and close merchant partnerships.
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and promotional offers to drive revenue.
Manage and grow a portfolio of premium merchant accounts.
Achieve monthly and quarterly sales and revenue targets.
Maintain strong post-sales relationships to ensure merchant retention and upselling.
Coordinate with internal teams to execute merchant campaigns and promotions.
Monitor competitor activity and market trends in the Colombo hospitality sector.
Prepare sales reports, pipeline updates, and visit summaries.
Requirements:
Proven experience in sales, business development, or merchant acquisition.
Prior exposure to hospitality, restaurant, lifestyle, FMCG, or B2B sales is highly preferred.
Excellent spoken and written English (mandatory).
Strong negotiation, closing, and persuasion skills.
Confident, outgoing personality with professional appearance.
Ability to work independently and thrive in a target-driven environment.
Willingness to travel extensively within Colombo for client meetings.
