The Configuration Technician will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and supporting Vision-based drive-thru timing systems (SQSRM & SVS) across ANZ sites. This role requires strong technical expertise in Linux systems, networking, camera/IP configurations, and software setup. The technician will also be involved in adapting software, exporting/analyzing video, fine-tuning Vision system, and generating performance reports to support operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Configure and commission of specialized systems running on Linux and Windows systems.
Set up and maintain network settings (static IPs, subnets, gateways, VLANs) for servers, timers, and IP cameras.
Configure and secure IP/PTZ cameras, apply firmware settings, manage passwords, and ensure correct ROI (Region of Interest) calibration.
Perform Linux server administration tasks, including IP configurations, DHCP setup, NTP/time sync, and user/password management.
Troubleshoot connectivity between Vision servers, cameras, and timers.
Generate and validate reports to track performance KPIs.
Monitor and fine-tune system accuracy, reducing car deletions and ensuring reliable system.
Provide weekly or ad-hoc reports with insights, trends, and recommendations for operational improvements.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong experience with Linux systems (Ubuntu/Debian based) – networking, user management, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on knowledge of IP networking: VLANs, DHCP, static routing, DNS, subnets.
Familiarity with IP/PTZ camera setup & streaming protocols (RTSP).
Experience with Windows.
Strong analytical skills for interpreting reports and video data.
Ability to produce clear technical reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Requirements:
Excellent communication skills in English – both verbal and written.
Proven experience in technical support, helpdesk, or customer service role.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to quickly analyze and resolve technical issues.
Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and common software applications.
Knowledge of networking concepts (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, etc.) is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Flexibility to work in shifts or extended hours if required.
Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, ServiceNow, Jira).
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or Degree in Networking, Computer Science, or Information Technology (or equivalent work experience).
