To support the Client’s tax compliance process by preparing tax returns, ensuring timely filings and payments, and maintaining accurate tax records. The role also involves reconciling tax accounts and assisting with internal reporting and audit support. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with UAE tax regulations and providing reliable data for tax reporting and decision-making. To clarify, tax involves both direct and indirect tax (i.e., corporate tax and VAT).
Responsibilities:
To analyze accounting transactions by gathering and organizing supporting documentation (e.g., bank statements, sales invoices, purchase bills, employee expenses, and corporate documents).
Assist in compiling and analyzing accounting data for tax return preparation and other reporting obligations.
Support the team in maintaining compliance with accounting and tax regulations through timely and accurate data entry and documentation.
Assist in organizing project timelines, deliverables, and document trackers in coordination with the engagement team.
Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and escalate delays or challenges to the reporting team leader as needed.
Participate in internal review discussions with Managers or Senior team members when required, take notes and execute the requested actions.
Stay updated on changes in accounting and tax regulations relevant to the assigned tasks.
Contribute to improving team efficiency by adhering to standard processes and providing feedback for process improvement.
Requirements:
Professional accountancy qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or any equivalent certification.
Additional qualification in taxation (e.g., Post Graduate Diploma in Taxation, CTA, ATT) will be considered an added advantage.
Background in tax compliance, payroll processing, and financial reporting within a professional services environment; preference will be given to candidates with experience at Top 5 global accounting or auditing firms.
Advance knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards, with the ability to apply these in practical client scenarios.
Working knowledge of UAE tax regulations; familiarity with EU tax frameworks or the tax regime of the candidate’s home jurisdiction is also valued.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Power BI, with the ability to analyze, interpret, and present financial and tax data effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.

Experience:
Minimum 6 to 9 years of experience in accounting, tax compliance, or financial reporting within a Top 5 global accounting or auditing firm.
Hands-on experience preparing and filing VAT and Corporate Tax returns, including using the UAE FTA portal or equivalent tax authority systems.
Experience coordinating client deliverables in a professional services setting.
Working knowledge of UAE FTA tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Tax, Excise Tax); in the absence of UAE experience, familiarity with other jurisdictional tax frameworks and the ability to quickly adapt to UAE requirements along with necessary FTA accredited education / diplomas is essential.
