Optimize resources usage to the best advantage to meet sample deadlines & offer competitive prices. Getting involved with Garment costing / sourcing & developing Fabrics, trims & embellishments on time and find innovative ways to ensure perfect ‘first time development samples’ are released.
Responsibilities :
Thorough study of the design sketch to identify customer requirements and finalize the sample process to meet critical deadlines.
Conducting development samples progress meeting with the suppliers & cross functional departments.
Closely follow up on sample critical path from Raw Materials to outsourcing processes including Prints, embellishments / washing etc.)
Negotiate pricing with supplier based on design sketch or samples to meet customer target prices.
Plan time efficiently to ensure you are always ‘adding value’.
Communicate with the Section Manager on a ‘Need to know basis’.
Identify key areas of concern by customer, team, order, merchandiser, supplier, product quality take corrective actions on a timely manner.
Following on outsourcing operations, sending for washing / printing/ embroidery etc.
Act as a key link to the developments team and be aware of all their activities and communicate to your team what is needed.
Requirements :
Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience as a product development merchandiser.
In-depth knowledge of apparel industry and products, including vendors, products, features, benefits, etc.
A degree or a diploma in relevant field or any other recognized qualification.
Previous experience in working for a multi cultured environment will be an added advantage.
Excellent command of written and spoken English communication skills is a must.
Having “Lingerie” experience will be an definite added advantage.
Possess outstanding client relationship management skill and negotiation skills.
Outgoing personality with good leadership and interpersonal skills.
Strong PC literacy and proven ability to manage daily activities using various systems such as MS Office and Outlook.
