 Job Description

The Procurement Manager is responsible for effectively managing the company’s product supply chain including but not limited to developing an appropriate procurement strategy, optimising cost-effective deals/suppliers and minimising procurement expenses so that the company can invest in growth and people.

Based in Samoa and reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for delivering the following critical outcomes:

  • Effective procurement strategy, policy and standard operating procedures developed and success-fully implemented.

  • Efficient procurement operations and quality standards maintained at all times.

  • Growth and performance measures for the procurement function developed and achieved.

  • Mutually beneficial long-term supplier and stakeholder relationship established and successfully managed.

  • Fully informed management team and Board of Directors.

  • Relevant and effective recruitment, training and professional development opportunities provided to procurement team.

  • Organisational values are upheld and vision and mission is effectively and consistently sustained.

The person we seek will have a bachelor’s degree in supply chain and/or logistics, at least 10 years’ work experience in the procurement field with five years in a similar senior procurement role.

The successful applicant will also demonstrate, at a minimum, the following:

  • Proven knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in reading the market.

  • Proficient in the use of supplier or third-party management software.

  • Excellent skills in project management, including target setting and achievement, resource allocation, and performance monitoring.

  • Proven experience in managing employee performance, training and development.

The successful candidate will be provided a competitive remuneration package and a contract term of two years which will be subject to renewal for a further two years upon mutual agreement.
